Rosyth's Aircraft Carriers

20 Members of Scottish Branch were hosted by the Royal Navy

After a tour of the Aircraft Carrier Visitor Centre, we were briefed on the roles of HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales, and specifically on their navigation equipment. We were left in no doubt as to the sophistication and capability of these two vessels, the effort that has gone into the design and build of the UK's largest warships, and the step change in the Royal Navy's operations which will result. We were then hosted in the wardroom of HMS Caledonia. Our thanks to the Commander(N) and Navigating Officer of HMS Queen Elizabeth for organising the visit and hosting us so well; we wish them well on the forthcoming sea trials.
