New medical rules for private pilots?

The CAA General Aviation Unit is conducting a consultation on UK PPL and NPPL medical requirements.

The consultation proposes that the medical requirement for UK Private Pilot Licence and National Private Pilot Licence holders is to hold a current DVLA Group 1 Ordinary Driving Licence (ODL). It also proposes that existing medical options will remain available.

The consultation document, CAP1284, and survey can be downloaded at the CAA link below. Responses are required by 10 July 2015.

The CAA will publish a Comment Response Document.
