ADS-B [Automated Dependent Surveillance -Broadcast] enables aircraft position to be transmitted to Air Traffic Control without using RADAR
ADS-B [Automated Dependent Surveillance -Broadcast] is a technology which enables aircraft position to be transmitted to Air Traffic Control, and to other aircraft or airspace users without the use of RADAR. In this respect is is similar to the widely used maritime system, AIS. There will be two talks from NATS experts: Ricardo De Sousa from the Surveillance section will talk about the wider ADS-B system and how it is developing fast, with the forthcoming launch of a new satellite system; and Adrian Price from R&D will talk briefly about ADS-B trials and use for electronic conspicuity of light aircraft and potentially also for drones. This is a joint meeting with GANG & HANG.
Refreshments on arrival at 1830 - talk starts 1900
