How the brain makes a map of space; Meeting at Ordnance Survey HQ

The speaker for this event will be Prof Kate Jeffery FRIN, Chair of the newly formed RIN COGNAV SIG, and Professor of Behavioural Neuroscience at UCL

When people think about where they want to go, they call to mind a "mental map". Where is this map in the brain and how is it made? Why does it work better in some people than in others?

In her talk, the speaker will explain some of the research which has taken place in recent years and shed light on these questions.and also reveal the surprising discovery that our map and memory are closely intertwined .
Before the meeting some members may wish to go to the nearby Walnut Tree, Adanac Drive, Nursling, SO16 0AU arriving at around 1715. They do a good carvery for c£7-00

There is no charge for attendance and members' guests will be welcome. Refreshments on arrival at 1830 - talk starts 1900.
