Space

There is a degree of overlap between SIGs in the space arena. While the Civil & Military Aviation Navigation Group covers general space-flight missions and issues, the Space Special Interest Group takes a broader responsibility for Global Navigation Satellite System issues - including GPS and Galileo - as well as those of the various satellite augmentation systems, like EGNOS. Meanwhile, the Research & Development Group covers all work on developing new technology, hardware and approaches to the challenges of space.

  This Group covers the use of Global Satellite Navigation Systems like GPS and Galileo, augmentation systems like EGNOS and WAAS, and the national and international politics and economics involved. It also covers any other aspects of navigation in orbit or beyond.
