Satnav causing chaos round Ring of Kerry
3rd September 2008 | By mdfalco,
Satellite navigation systems have been causing chaos in Ireland's idyllic Ring of Kerry, a 180-kilometre stretch of road around the rugged landscape of the island's south-west, Irish broadcaster RTE has reported.
Large vehicles have travelled anti-clockwise around the circular route
to and from Killarney since the 1800s, but modern satnav systems have
been sending tourist coaches and lorries in the wrong direction.
Local councillors are calling for satnav systems to be updated to solve the problem, RTE said.
