US company Pulse Engineering has introduced the world's smallest GPS antenna - its largest dimension is only 3.2 mm and it weighs just 0.033 g.
The Indian government has given the go-ahead for Gagan - the country's satellite-based navigation overlay for air traffic management. The name 'Gagan' is Sanskrit for 'Sky'.
The Civil GPS Service Interface Committee has published all the papers from its recent international meeting.

The International Air Transport Association confirms that
international passenger traffic growth slowed to 1.3% in August,
following a disappointing growth of 1.9% in July. Passenger load
factors fell to 79.2% from 81% in August 2007 last year as capacity
growth outpaced demand.
