Trinity House is a world leader in the provision of Aids to Navigation and is the General Lighthouse Authority for England, Wales and the Channel Islands. Providing nearly 600 aids to navigation, the service uses new technology to deliver a leading-edge service for the 21st Century.
This is a unique role within an equally unique organisation. It is an exciting opportunity to contribute towards the strategy of the organisation as it strives to achieve its’ goals and maintain the high levels of safety at sea that are critical to the mariner.
We are seeking a highly experienced board member who has achieved senior level/Director status in their chosen profession. We are particularly interested to hear from applicants who can bring a fresh approach and knowledge base to the organisation, therefore we are keen to hear from candidates who have gained experience outside the marine industry. Previous experience of chairing a Board and Non Executive experience would be advantageous.
We are looking for an individual with a general business background. Knowledge and understanding of working with central government would be a significant advantage.
The work of Trinity House and that of the General Lighthouse Authorities for Scotland and Ireland is co-ordinated by a Joint Strategic Board to provide leadership and strategic planning across the three General Lighthouse Authorities. The post holder will be required to support the Joint Strategic Board in the mid to long term future.
