GPS as a fashion accessory

One of Sweden’s most respected accessory designers has produced a bracelet incorporating GPS and GSM technology.

'PFO One' is a personal safety bracelet - sold as a "safe companion when you go out at night, taking your morning jog, getting home late from work or taking a 'dodgy' taxi".

Give the bracelet a tug, and it it sends a SMS position message to up to 3 chosen contacts, who can then follow the movement of the wearer on a linked map.

To use PFO One, you need a protection plan - it can be 'Basic' or 'Premium' - and a smart phone. The protection plan is registered when the bracelet is purchased - Basic is available in 60 countries, but the Premium Plan (using a security company) only in Sweden.

The bracelet is available in 5 colours and weighs 100 gm (~4 ounces). Cost is ~€199/ £156/ $246, with the Basic Protection Plan at €10.90/ £8.60/ $13.50 per month.
