AF 447 cockpit voice recorder retrieved
The AF 447 cockpit voice recorder (CVR) has been recovered, giving hope that the loss of the A330 will be resolved.
Having already recovered the flight data recorder (FDR) - see previous news - the investigation team localized and identified the CVR at 2150 UTC on 2 May and retrieved it at 0240 UTC this morning.
After the FDR was raised, the Bureau d'Enquêtes et d'Analyses (BEA - French AAIB) asked the French Navy to send a patrol boat to transport the recorders to French Guyana for transfer by air to BEA at Le Bourget.
The BEA Investigator-in-Charge, an officer from the French Judicial Police and an investigator from CENIPA (the Brazilian equivalent of the BEA) will be present during the transfer from the Ile de Sein to BEA, which should take around 10 days.
Details from Bureau d'Enquêtes et d'Analyses below.
