Google maps go indoors

Google has announced today the launch of indoor maps for Android devices in the UK.
One has to open Google Maps on an Android mobile phone and zoom in to the current location - and the indoor floor plan appears. And for buildings where full information is available - and with 'My Location' enabled - the phone will show current location on the map with the familiar blue dot.
And if one searches for another location to go to, the phone will provide directions - even if it's on a different floor.
Over 40 venues in the UK have worked with Google to have their indoor floor plans appear, ranging from train stations to art galleries, department stores to sporting venues. And any building owner can upload their maps for future inclusion in Google Maps.
Indoor maps are also currently available for locations in Canada, Japan, Switzerland and the US.
