Following a brief AGM at 7:30 pm, EM RIN Branch Chair, Captain Steve Hogarth, will describe the emergence of a post Second World War airline like no other. From a small private charter operation, Silver City Airways very quickly grew, despite significant economic and political odds, to become a large and very innovative scheduled airline, The British airline industry has seen the rise and fall of many airlines in the last 60 years, but few were as colourful as Silver City and its role in the development of British air transport has become almost legendary.
